lfs.nl/webstats/

Did a search for 'lul', wondering what lfs-page would show up. To my surprise, its lfs.nl/present2000/06-30-00/content.html. Have a habit of giving a title to the content page, which you don't see when you're in the frame. Can't remember why i named this one lul. The title of the frame is 'lekker puh (and i'm not gonna translate this!...' Guess i felt kinda obstinate, not a bad state to be in.

[For non-dutch speaking people: lul=dick]

Ooh, before i forget, thanks drunkmenworkhere.org for a third (!) link of the day to one of the presents. I'm honoured.

Hey, sound of design looks different. Really liked the previous click and throw navigation and the good tutorials. Still looks great, but a bit more one dimensional.

Time for me to start making things again, with my bedroom finished, my house back in order and my taxforms filled in (finally, *sigh*) i've got no excuses anymore. And yeah, i feel something tickling in the back of my mind. Days like yesterday are hopeless, waking up crying, i don't know why, but it clouds the whole day. And there am i thinking i'm starting to feel better. Which i am (two steps forward, one step back that is).

Hmm, gonna make me some fresh coffee.

Hun onmacht is hun hoogste macht
De nuttelozen van de nacht

Kom dans met mij
Vriendin, kom hier, vriendin, kom hier, kom hier; nee, nee blijf!

Vriendin, kom hier, vriendin, kom hier, kom hier, kom hier; nee, nee blijf!
Kom dans met mij, laat ons dansen lijf aan lijf

In de liefde zijn ze zo berooid
't Was, 't was, ze was zo zacht
Ze was, ach, dat begrijp u nooit
De nuttelozen van de nacht
Ze nemen nog een laatste glas
Vertellen nog een laatste grap
En met een allerlaatste glas
De laatste dans
De laatste stap
Het laatste verdriet
De laatste klacht
De nuttelozen van de nacht

Kom, kom, kom huil met mij
Vriendin, kom hier, vriendin, kom hier, kom hier, nee blijf
Kom, kom huil met mij
Laat ons huilen lijf aan lijf

De nuttelozen van de nacht

Referstatsurfing, i found this french piece. Wasn't even sure it was about lfs.nl when i first read it, translated through babelfish.

Ondulatoire

Ondulatoire, gotta remember that word, makes a good title.

Its been a year since i left for London. I'm half conscious of that all during the day. Remembering how i waited in a empty house early in the morning, around 6 for Han and Silvia. How we got to the boat at Hoek of Holland, saw the big motorbikes going in, and the tiny motorbike besides, how we laughed at it. How we saw the movie on the boat, Sixty seconds, which was really bad. Driving to London, me getting into the Oven office. Finding out there was no bed, getting in the car, where i felt really surprised sitting on the left site in front, sitting besides someone who drove really fast through this hectic London traffic. The drink outside the pub, on a sidestreet of Brick Lane. Don't remember its name, not the Golden Heart on the corner of Commercial Street and Hanbury, not Spitz Bar. I remember the next day going out to get a bank account, how i bought way too expensive coathangers somewhere on Mile End. The vietnamese on Kingsland Road. The Thai restaurant, what was its name? Somewhere in Soho. Busabai?

I've pushed it all away since i got back. Not really missing it, happy to be back, really. I just can't believe i've really been there, it was all real. Very real. No, i don't miss it that much. Just feeling a little bit sad. It was a time of high expectations. I was just unlucky that it all went sour so quickly. Cuz i know that, if Oven was still there, if the market was still going strong, i would still be there. Right now. Today.

Wow, that was a long time ago, having such a wonderful happy feeling making a new present. I'm amazed, by tweaking numbers, playing around with scripts, then check the movie, and see something you just didn't expect. And then to think I didn't know what to do yesterday. Well, apart from doing my taxes and polishing the walls in my bedroom. Cheerio!

wouldn't it be nice if we were older
than we wouldn't have to wait so long
and wouldn't it be nice to live together
in the kind of world where we belong

Beach Boys, Wouldn't it be nice. Appropriate music for doing my administration today?

Yeah! Glad to put a present online, after those weeks of working on the preview section. Clearly in the same field as the linestudy, but now all the animation done in actionscripting. The code is a bit messy, i wonder if it could be done more elegantly, but i'll just have to work on that.

The first time that besides is taking it rightful place, the page after a present. What i write here takes the place of the little bylines i used to write in the bottom frame and the text entries i used to make as a present, many times in the past.
I do miss the spontaneous presents i used to make in the beginning, they are the best. Its just not happening, for a long time now. Hard to deal with, but i'm glad that i'm getting to a point where i can work and experiment and look into old ideas and see what i can do with them.

Alright, time to go watch Zomergasten on tv!
